Devil Music Ensemble presents Nosferatu
8–9:30 pm, Atrium

Devil Music Ensemble returns to PEM to perform live music for a screening of the 1922 classic silent film Nosferatu. The original score — composed and performed live alongside the film — features percussion, synthesizer, electric violin, vibraphone, guitar and lap steel.

Set in the 1830s, Nosferatu tells the story of Hutter, a young real estate clerk who is sent on business to the mysterious Count Orlok (Nosferatu) in Transylvania. Hutter falls prey to the count's bloodsucking practices but manages to escape. Meanwhile, the count leaves on a ship for Bremen, taking with him several earth-filled coffins. The entire crew dies en route, and, upon arrival, a swarm of plague-ridden rats descends on the city. When Hutter is able to tell his wife, Nina, of the count's nefarious ways, she resolves to destroy the vampire.
