This event is FULL
Find out what three influential members of the fashion community say will be hot in the coming year. Our panelists discuss how they met, their shared inspiration and their passion for fashion and design. They also talk about the dynamic relationship between art and design. Paula Richter, curator for exhibitions and research, moderates the discussion.
Panelists
Robin Givhan, fashion editor for The Washington Post, won the 2006 Pulitzer Prize for critcism, the first time the honor was given to a fashion writer. The Pulitzer Committee noted Givhan's "witty, closely observed essays that transform fashion criticism into cultural criticism."
Michael Vollbracht is a distinguished fashion designer, an accomplished painter and an author. In 1989, The New Yorker named him one of its top illustrators. Former artistic director at Bliss Blass Limited, Vollbracht launched his eponymous label in 2008 with pieces designed to be elegant, tailored and "not faddish" in any way.
Iris Apfel is a fashion iconoclast and true original whose exuberant style is celebrated at PEM in Rare Bird of Fashion: The Irreverent Iris Apfel. She has been touted by many of the world's designers as an important influence for their collections.
