11 am | What Was Ours
An Eastern Shoshone tribal elder, a teenage powwow princess and an Arapahoe journalist leave their Wyoming Wind River Indian reservation in pursuit of sacred artifacts. They discover a treasure trove of ancestral objects in the archives of Chicago's Field Museum, where they wrestle with the line between opening old wounds and reclaiming what has been lost. 2016, 80 minutes, directed by Mat Hames.
After the film, Karen Kramer, PEM Curator of Native American and Oceanic Art and Culture, hosts a Q&A with filmmaker Mat Hames and co-producer Jordan Dresser, a past participant in PEM's Native American Fellow program.
