Reservations by April 26

Location: Peabody Essex Museum

Join award-winning author, illustrator and plein air painter Peter C. Stone in an exploration of the moon and other elements in nature as symbols. This session features a mini-talk by the artist, including a visit to his paintings Guernsey on the Mount and Black Wolf on display in Lunar Attraction, followed by a painting demo and workshop in which participants will create pastel and watercolor artworks to take home. Each participant will also receive a pass to come back to see the Lunar Attraction exhibit at their leisure.

Peter C. Stone holds a BA degree from the Claremont Colleges in Marine Biology and Studio Art. His award-winning book Dreams to Dance in Moonlight: Ways of Feeling, Seeing, and Imagining has inspired many readers with its celebration of the symbols found in the natural world. Also an accomplished sailor and educator, Stone has traveled the world as a speaker and artist for his own work, in addition to his STEAM workshops focused on mythology and symbolism in living systems. Recommended for ages 8 and up.
