Discover the magic of your own backyard as we continue to celebrate the redesigned and expanded Art & Nature Center. Explore our new art studios, meet artists, enjoy a puppetry spectacle and check out Beyond Human: Artist-Animal Collaborations.

 

ART MAKING

Stacking Stones | 10 am-1 pm | Atrium

Work with environmental artist Kyle Browne to make a one-of-a-kind balanced sculpture of stones and other natural materials collected around the North Shore.

 

FACE PAINTING

Fur, Feathers and More | 10:15 am-1 pm | Atrium

Unleash your inner animal with a visit to our make-up artist station.

 

PERFORMANCE

Puppet Walkabouts
10:20-11:10 am and 12:30-1 pm | Art & Nature Center

Look for wandering puppets and marionettes throughout the Art & Nature Center.

 

ART MAKING

Tagua Nut Scrimshaw | 10:30 am-1 pm | Art Nook

Wild new materials meet a local art-making tradition. Try the technique, then check out examples of traditional scrimshaw.

 

Natural Materials Print Making | 10:30 am-1 pm | Create Space 1

Get inspired by our new space! Use simple screenprinting techniques to create a print to add to our collaborative collage. Then make another print to take home.

 

ARTIST DEMONSTRATION AND ART MAKING

Amazing Owls | 10:30 am-1 pm | Create Space 2

Meet live owls and watch as artist Sarah Seabury Ward creates clay sculpture inspired by these remarkable birds. Then create a clay owl of your own.

 

PUPPET SHOW

River Tales | 11:30 am-12:15 pm | Atrium

River nymphs, sea serpents and water stories from around the globe flow freely in this puppetry spectacle from Purple Rock Productions.
