Environmental artist Terry Bastian has installed his visual representation of the effect of rising sea levels in various locations, from Massachusetts to the Caribbean nation of Belize.

This past Saturday the Peabody Essex Museum hosted Terry Bastian on Salem’s waterfront for a community art project. Over a hundred visitors turned up to take part in the event. Bastian’s objective is to create a dialog between art and viewer that leads to new understandings about climate change.

Terry Bastain was at the Peabody Essex Museum to give a free lecture: Between the Melting Poles: How Do We Adapt? Thursday, July 17, 7-8:30pm.
