Red Malay rooster (Gallus gallus domesticus). Collected live on the Malay Peninsula, about 1846, brought to Salem and bred to local hens by George Wheatland Jr., h. 20 in. (50.8 cm). Gift of George Wheatland, 1846 (NB852)
