Kerry Schneider, Chief of Staff
Kerry Schneider joined PEM in 2012, after beginning her museum career as the Development and Membership Manager at Intuit: The Center for Intuitive and Outsider Art in Chicago and as the Assistant Director of the Illinois State Museum Artisans Program, where she represented over 1,800 juried artists. She has held numerous roles in PEM’s Development Department, including Annual Giving Officer, Communications Officer and Major Gifts Officer.
As Chief of Staff, Schneider facilitates communication between the Executive Director's office and the Executive Team, museum staff and external stakeholders. She oversees planning and directs administrative and operational activities for the Executive Director's office, working across the museum to manage special projects and initiatives. In addition, she also serves as the liaison to PEM’s Trustees and Board of Advisors.
Prior to becoming Chief of Staff, Schneider initiated and led GenPEM, the museum’s successful young patrons program that offers pop-up programming with artists inside and outside the museum. She also spearheaded a community partnership with Dress for Success, Boston in conjunction with the exhibition Shoes: Pleasure and Pain on view November 19, 2016 to March 12, 2017.
Kerry holds a BA from Brown University in English literature and an MA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in Arts Administration and Policy. In her personal as well as professional life, she draws on her musical experience for listening and collaborating.
