Mark Wilson is an award-winning wildlife photographer and author. He was a staff photographer for the Boston Globe for 23 years, and contributed columns on photography and birds. His wildlife photos have appeared in a wide variety of publications, including National Geographic. Mark has also authored two books: Owling: Enter the World of the Mysterious Birds of the Night (2019), chosen by the American Association for the Advancement of Science as 2020’s Best Science Book for Middle Grade Students, and The Snowy Owl Scientist (2022). He is a contributing author and photographer in the acclaimed book Arctic Wings: Birds of the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge (2006).

Teacher naturalist Marcia Wilson is a co-founder of Eyes on Owls, an educational enterprise, along with her husband Mark. Together, they care for non-releasable owls that serve as wildlife ambassadors for schools and other groups. They highlight local wildlife and share tips for how to observe animals without disturbing them. Mark and Marcia also work as a team in the field, birding, photographing and exploring remote areas that few people get to visit. In 2001, they completed a 19-day canoe trip down the North Slope River in Alaska’s Arctic Refuge.
