This shimmering new gallery focuses on the range, scale and form of glass art.

This diverse selection of contemporary glass represents the work of more than 40 of the most influential glass artists from the 20th century to today. Donated to PEM in 2022 by New York-based collectors Carl and Betty Pforzheimer, this collection is remarkable for its range of forms, scale and techniques in glass. The Pforzheimers’ gift significantly expands PEM’s noted historic glass collection while celebrating the extraordinary aesthetic possibilities that arise from the combination of sand and fire.
