Art, Identity and Social Change
Recommended for Grades 6-12
Students explore personal and cultural identity through a variety of works and multiple perspectives that represent a range of cultures, modes and media. Art has the power to transform how we think and see.
By engaging in dialogue, gallery activities and reflection, students examine works of art through lenses of geography, sociopolitical change, nature, literature, personal histories and cultural heritage. Discover the ever-evolving nature of art and culture by delving deeper into individual artists' innovative perspectives and sources of inspiration. Tour includes the ongoing installation, On This Ground: Being and Belonging in America and may also include select special exhibitions and works from other galleries.
