      Brett Adams

      Brett Adams comes from Atlanta, Georgia, and is a member of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation who bestowed the name Bbon ke Nene (roughly: Winter Maker) to Brett. Brett recently finished his undergraduate degree at Duke University with a B.A. in history and a minor in music. While at Duke, he interned at the university’s Nasher Museum of Art in the registration department. He has led research for exhibitions through internships with the Museum of Durham History and the Citizen Potawatomi Nation’s Cultural Heritage Center. Following his time as a Native American Fellow at the Peabody Essex Museum in the summer of 2024, Brett is pursuing a master’s degree in art history and museum studies from Georgetown University with the goal of curating Native American art.
